Am I a music snob?

So I've started creating a list of concerts I've attended. I'm not sure whether to just start from my very first one and work my way forward with my memory or just start writing down any and all I can think of and sort by years later. For this reason, I haven't actually written down anything on paper yet, it's all up in the head thus far. My friend Carren told me to attend the U2 3D concert at imax and so I took my father and two sisters last night. It was a sold out crowd and there were 6 people total (including us four) that actually clapped and acted like it was a real concert. I actually stuck out my hands a couple of times to touch "The Edge" and Bono but to no avail. I suddenly realized that no one else in the audience was treating this properly. I mean it demanded clapping and shouting and putting my hands in the air with the "rock" symbol and so I did. Are Seattleites such music snobs? After all, this is the land of (look to list at right). Or am I music snob and demand perfection from crowds. I know we all "feel" music differently, but not even a little clap at the end? Were they not feeling what I was feeling? Were they not U2 fans? It's like if someone I love dies and you walk into a grocery store and you expect everyone else to be sad, and you can't figure out why everyone is in a chipper mood. Were my expectations just too high?

You're not a snob. The people around you (except your family of course) were obviously very uptight. I hope you enjoyed the life changing experience!

Oh and I forgot to say - I know you're not a snob because you'll go to any and every concert. Remember the Rocky Volatano experience? Yeah. You're not a snob.

Don't forget 'cucs' (cucumbers) you hate that word too.
And am I the only person in the world who know you have a blog?

so good to see you in the blogging world! i have to agree with the snobbery at the u23d concert in denver too. after the first song, i thought the crowd in the film was actually the audience in the theatre. what a let down.

ah how i miss our shared concert experiences!! although i do have to admit that i went and saw duncan sheik again a few weeks ago and he kind of sucked. but maybe I'M just a music snob ;)

hey- are you dissing my rocky? and it's spelled votolato - that's just what I was saying about the seattle crowds not moving- they just stand there and hardly even tap their toes! gotta tell you though hayley- Mika makes you NOT a snob- he was a bit of a cross between richard simmons and a vegas showgirl! BUT everyone in the audience MOVED the whole night long! and he CAN sing and play the drums-he just shouldn't gyrate his front, let alone his rear- kind of feels like the whole Michael Jackson trying to be a sex-god- queen?!! as I am just re-awakening to the music world- I have after all seen Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, ELVIS (I was 8.5 mos pregnant with Kelly and wanted to go into labor right then and there!- Peter Frampton, and Alice Cooper- then skip 30 years -U2 was phenomenal though-Editors in san fran was great and Rob Crowe without his pinbacks (notice I didn't say pinheads:) ) are comments supposed to be shorter than this? mom
